Philippines Legazpi Mission: Elder Feraer

BAGAMANOC | Day 156 to 157 |

SEPTEMBER 18, 2014:
In my personal study, I read the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also prepare the lesson related to this for our district meeting. Today's district meeting topic was "The Doctrine of Christ". It is all about our faith in Jesus Christ, repentance of our sin, baptism by immersion under the hands of those holding the proper priesthood authority, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and then living faithful endurance to the end of our lives here on earth.

The doctrine of Christ promises great blessings to those who obey its precepts. Those who repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ will be filled or visited with the Holy Ghost. They will experience a remission of sins. The Holy Ghost will then "tell" and "show" them all things they should do. Those who know "the true points of doctrine" can have daily revelations and experience peace. They will be saved and will inherit the kingdom of God and have eternal life. If they faithfully endure to the end, they will be held guiltless before the Father when Christ stands to judge the world.

We had a great experience in our district meeting. We shared our insights and learned in each other. In my district leader's message, I shared with them one of the quotes from E. Ardern in our last mission tour.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2014:
Yesterday we focus our work in our area in Minaili, and today we focus on Sagrada. We had a productive day in missionary work. We also applied what we learned yesterday to one of our lessons. It went well. 😊

SEPTEMBER 16, 2014:
Grocery time again! We went to Virac to withdraw and do other important stuff in the city. I also sent my old scriptures back home because I have new 4 in1 scriptures now. I also sent my Catanduanes made backpack and other stuff that I didn't need or redundant. It will be easy for me If I'm getting transferred so I'll not carry many things. Currently, I have one huge and one normal size luggage. I don't want to add any more. 😅

SEPTEMBER 17, 2014:
We traveled back to San Vicente. Elder Abuel enjoyed the ride. He is getting used to this.

BAGAMANOC | Day 151 to 153 |

SEPTEMBER 13, 2014:
We had a good plan last night for today but unfortunately, there's a storm right now. We tried to go to Sagrada but the water current in the river is really strong. It's dangerous to walk in the spillway so we went back and postponed our plan and called it a day because of the storm.


SEPTEMBER 14, 2014:
Fortunately, the storm faded/moved fast unlike the devastating storm before. It's still rainy but it's not worst than yesterday. Sacrament meeting attendance was kinda affected because of the storm. We only work in Minaili today. Sagrada's spillway bridge was still not passable. Overall, we had a good week this week. We reached the standard of excellence again. It's been a long time but it looks like we found our groove again. Hopefully, we can do it consistently again. 😊

BAGAMANOC | Day 148 to 150 |

SEPTEMBER 10, 2014:
We did tracting in the morning followed by our scheduled lessons in the afternoon and the evening. Bro. Magin referred us again to the Salvador Family and unlike last time, this time it was successful and they are really interested to hear the gospel. Back in my early days here with my previous companion, it wasn't like this. I realized that there is a time for everyone. They might reject us before but there will be a right time for them. The important thing is you must try. It's like planting a seed and someday it will grow and can be harvested. We had a good day again and we also met new investigators. 😊


SEPTEMBER 11, 2014:
We cleaned the apartment before the newly assigned missionary here arrives. After we ate lunch, Elder Irabon arrives together with his new companion, Elder Abuel. He is our new district mate and housemate. He was my zone mate before in Tabaco for a few weeks before I got transferred here and I don't know much about him. He seems nice. Looking forward to their companionship.

We had a good day in missionary work again and we're on a roll. 😊


SEPTEMBER 12, 2014:
It's District Meeting today. I prepared our district's lesson during my personal study. I was a little nervous because it was my first time. Haha. Thanks to my companion, he helped me in planning. I'm fortunate that he is a former DL before, that's why he has experience in this kind of stuff. All my district mates are good and helpful. It was a good district meeting even though it was my first as a DL. District meeting's topic was about "How do we use our time wisely".

We had 7 lessons today, a referral, and a new investigator. We're doing really good lately. 😊

BAGAMANOC | Day 147 |

SEPTEMBER 9, 2014:
Woah! Expect the unexpected. I was chosen to be the new District Leader in San Vicente. 😲 Honestly, I wasn't expecting this. I really thought it will be Elder Irabon because he is doing great and more obedient than me. It can also be my companion, Elder Aguilando because he was a former DL as well as the new incoming missionary here. Maybe this is Heavenly Father's way of telling me to step it up even more further and change our district's area for good. A new responsibility and calling. I'll do my best and I'll become more responsible now for the people in this area, to my fellow district mates, and for our loving Heavenly Father. I just need to work on my confidence.

We had a productive day again. Good planning really helps. We received and contacted a referral. We also had new investigators. It was a good day. 😊

BAGAMANOC | Day 145 to 146 |

SEPTEMBER 7, 2014:
Elder Aguilando and I are the only missionaries right now. We had a good sacrament meeting. In the coming days, Elder Irabon will be back with his new companion and our new housemate. I hope he is a good missionary.

It's been a long time since we had a productive day in missionary work. Hopefully, we can carry this in the new transfer cycle starting tomorrow.


SEPTEMBER 8, 2014:
We did our usual P-Day routine in the morning and afternoon. We also had an unexpected Family Home Evening with the Lopez Family with some members that were also present. It's all good. We had a fun and spiritual day. We also shared a lesson and all is well.

SEPTEMBER 2, 2014:
We're back in San Vicente. We had fun yesterday. That was a great Zone Activity in Virac. 😀

SEPTEMBER 3, 2014:
The Zone Leaders texted us that Mt. Mayon is in alert level 3 now. All the missionaries in Albay might be relocated to safe areas. Hopefully, all people out there will be alright. 🙏


SEPTEMBER 4, 2014:
It was Elder Moran's last District Meeting. He is kinda emotional. It was a good meeting. Aside from that, nothing much important happened today.


SEPTEMBER 5, 2014:
It was Elder Moran's last night in San Vicente. He will leave tomorrow morning. He also invited us to come with them when he said his goodbyes to some members in their area. The Molina Family (Branch President's family) invited us to have dinner. I miss eating meat! It was a delicious meal. We also gave SR and BR to him. I gave him my Dirk Nowitzki Dallas shirt. We also traded bags and ties and he gave me his normal size quadruple scriptures. Thanks, Elder Moran! 😀

SEPTEMBER 6, 2014:
Time to say our final goodbye to our District Leader, housemate, and friend, Elder Moran. His full-time mission in Legazpi Mission was finished and he will return home very soon to his hometown. San Vicente branch is definitely grateful for all his help in his time here. I also learned something from him especially in Christlike attributes of charity. His last transfer cycle here was the best bonding moment I had with him since we arrived here. I wish him all the best in his next mission in life.

We did missionary work in the afternoon and we had some successful appointments. We also received and contacted two referrals today.

BAGAMANOC | Day 139 |

SEPTEMBER 1, 2014:
Great! Our Zone won for the first time ever in the history of the Philippines Legazpi Mission! For our reward, we have Zone Activity today! 😃 Every transfer cycle, one Zone can have a special zone activity with an allotted budget if they win a key indicator challenge. We are all happy for our zone in finally winning this one. We're the best zone in this transfer cycle! 😃

Elder Centeno saw this one coming so most of us missionaries have already our special zone shirt printed days before this special day. He has a lot of faith in our zone. Haha. Good leadership. 😄 We celebrate in Amenia Beach Resort at San Andres, Catanduanes. We hang around, bond, played sports, eat together, did spiritual activities, played fun games, and have fun. 😊
